Nathan Zelkind, 61 [born around 1903], died Monday [17 Feb 1964] morning at Lake Shore Hospital [in Lake City, Columbia, Florida: now called Shands Lake Shore Regional Medical Center] after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Zelkind was born in Russia but came to this country as a young man. He had lived in Lake City for the past 25 years [since about 1939] and operated a dry goods store here.

He is survived by

  • his widow, 
    • the former Ann Lazarus;
  • one daughter, 
    • Miss Rosalind Zelkind, Lake City;
  • and two sisters,
    1. Mrs. Morris Silver and
    2. Miss Jean Zelkind, both of Long Island, N.Y.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon [16. Feb] at the McGowan Funeral Home in Valdosta, Ga [Georgia]. Burial was in Sunset Hill Cemetery [in Valdosta, Georgia].
