We regret that we did not learn in time for the last issue of "The Eagle" of the death of Mrs. N. A. Oppert, who died on Tuesday the 25th ult. [25 August 1903], at the home of Mrs. J. D. Campbell, her sister, near Smyrna church.
She was the "joyful mother" of fourteen children, six of whom are yet living, and one of whom is Mr. L. A. Oppert, of this city.
She was a member of the Baptist church, and always manifested that interest characteristic of the true christian, and for years to come and to go her deeds of faithfulness will be cherished as burnished gold set in true diadem, "for this woman was full of good works."
She was laid to her final rest beneath the shades at Smyrna, Barbour county [might be in Houston county now?], where on the resurrection morn, clad in the garments of the great I am, she will make final ascension to the home of the redeemed and blessed.
