OZARK — Funeral services for Jim M. Oppert, eighty-three [born about 1863], who died yesterday [21 February] at his home near Asbury [Dale county] after a long illness, were held today [22 February] at Asbury Methodist Church - with Rev. Lumpkin in charge. Burial followed in Ozark City cemetery [Dale county], Holman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and had resided in Dale County for the past 70 years [since about 1876].
Surviving are
- his wife;
- two daughters,
- Mrs. Mable Jernigan, Pensacola and
- Mrs. Mary Anderson, Beaumont, Tex.;
- a son, L. R. Oppert, Maxville, Fla.,
- 15 grandchildren and
- 22 great grandchildren.
