Mrs. Terri [misspelling of Carrie] Pence Raypole, 83, of West Whitley street, Churubusco, died at 8:05 a.m. today [January 18] in Whitley County Hospital, where she had been a patient several weeks.
She was born April 29, 1888 in Whitley county to A. M. and Sadie Sleesman Long.
Her marriage to Heber J. Pence occurred April 11, 1908, Mr. Pence preceding her in death in 1929.
She married John Raypole in 1949 and he died in 1960.
Surviving are
- two daughters,
- Mrs. Gerald (Mabel) Deutsch and
- Mrs. William (Betty) Meyers, both of Columbia City;
- two sons,
- John Pence of Antwerp [Paulding], Ohio, and
- Robert Pence of Indianapolis;
- one step-son, Scott Raypole, Pierceton;
- two step-daughters,
- Mrs. Lawrence (Lois) Miller, [Columbia?] City,
- Mrs. Max (Doris) Leiter, Florida;
- seven grandchildren and
- two great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Krider-Lane Funeral Home in Churubusco from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday [January 20] where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday [January 21] with the Rev. Floyd Blake officiating.
Interment will be in Blue River cemetery.

Funeral services were conducted in the Krider-Lane Funeral Home in Churubusco Thursday afternoon for Carrie Pence Raypole.
The Rev. Floyd Blake officiated.

- John Pence Jr., and
- Clarence Raypole.
Burial was in Blue River cemetery.
