Abraham L. Long, 72, a pioneer of Whitley county, passed away Sunday, April 26 [1936], from complications.

Surviving Mr. Long are his widow, Sarah; three sons, T. L. Long and Walter D. Long of Fort Wayne, and Jesse Long of Portland, Oregon, and one daughter, Mrs. Carrie Pence of Churubusco.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 o'clock in the Sonday funeral home, Rev. P. L. Mast officiating. He was laid to rest in Eel River cemetery.

Mr. Long was born in Whitley county November 5, 1863. He was the son of David and Susan Sipes Long and on December 22, 1885, he married Sarah E. Sleesman. The couple had recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. Mr. Long had always been a substantial, useful citizen of his community. He farmed and was a contractor.
