Abraham L. Long, 72, a resident of Churubusco, died in his home on North Line street at that place Sunday evening [26 April] at 5 o'clock of heart trouble. He had been ill for some time and for the past two weeks his condition had been critical.

Funeral services will be held at the Sonday funeral home in Churubusco, on Tuesday afternoon [28 April], the Rev. A. L. Mast, of the United Brethren church officiating. The body has been returned to the residence, where friends may call until the hour of the funeral.

The decedent had always lived in Whitley county. He was a son of David and Susan Sipes Long and was born November 5, 1863.

His survivors are

  • the widow, formerly Miss Sarah ["Sadie"] Sleesman,
  • three sons,
    • T. L. Long and
    • W[alter]. D. Long, of Fort Wayne;
    • [J]esse Long, of Portland, Ore[gon].;
  • and one daughter, Mrs. Carrie Pence, of Churubusco.

The committal services will be held in Eel River cemetery.
